Honor has kicked off the roll-out of the newest update software for the Honor 200 series. The company released it in the country of India on July 18 with two smartphones: Honor 200 and 200 Pro, which integrated a large language model (LLM) called MagicLM, along with Magic Capsule, Magic Portal, and other AI features. The company calls this update the “highly requested” call recording feature on both handsets. Moreover, the new features of this update to Honor 200 series software include camera, performance, stability, and security enhancements.

Honor 200-series smartphones is powered by Android 14-based Magic OS 8.0. The update has boosted the software of the smartphone to N39I 8.0.0.135. It remains the first OTA for users in India. The newest call recording feature is what stands out among new features. It further introduces the depth effect adjustment function in the Gallery such that users can fine-tune effects for portrait mode photos, meaning they get a changed visual experience of the image.
Additional, the feature of Ultra Group Photo has been added in taking pictures in portrait mode using the back camera. According to the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, it could minimize closed eyes in a group photograph and make it more favorable. The update also said to enhance shooting effect in specific cases.
Honor announces the latest software update that also bundles the August Security Patch which include Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) from the August 2024 Android Security Bulletin.
Other improvements in the bundle include performance enhancement, greater compatibility of the system with third-party apps, and general improvement of the whole system. Users of Honor 200 series can download this update by visiting Settings > System & updates > Software update and tapping on Check for updates to download the latest update.
