Overview
Realme is going to launch the Neo 8 in China on January 22 at 7pm time, which is 4:30pm IST. They made this announcement on Weibo. The Neo 8 is the version of the Realme Neo 7 that came out in December 2024. Display and Build Highlights
The thing that is getting everyone excited is the Samsung Displays M14 OLED panel. It has a smooth 165Hz refresh rate. This makes scrolling and gaming on the Samsung Displays M14 OLED panel feel very nice. The Samsung Displays M14 OLED panel is also used in the iQOO 15. The iQOO 15 uses materials that make the Samsung Displays M14 OLED panel use less power and last longer. To keep everything there is Crystal Armor Glass. The Crystal Armor Glass is supposed to be very good, at resisting scratches and drops.
The design of this phone is really good because it has rounded corners that make it comfortable to hold. It also has a security feature which is a special fingerprint sensor that can read your fingerprint even when your hands are wet. This is better than phones that use a different kind of sensor. The Cyber Purple version of the phone is really cool because you can see the inside of the phone through the back. It has a light that flashes when you get a message, which is a feature that Realme phones are known for. The Cyber Purple phone also has a label for the NFC technology next, to the camera.
Powerhouse Performance
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is at the heart of this thing. It was announced in November 2025. Now it is being used in devices like the OnePlus 15R and Motorola Signature.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and Realme together get high scores on AnTuTu. Over 3.58 million. This means the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is really fast for games and when you have a lot of things at the same time. It is also good, for AI features.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 comes with a lot of RAM and storage. We do not know the details yet.. With the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 the Neo 8 is a really good deal.
Camera and Additional Teases
The camera on this thing is really cool. It has three lenses on the back. One of the lenses has a feature that lets you zoom in really far like 120 times closer. This means you can take pictures of things that’re really small like a bug or things that are really far away like the moon. The camera on the front of the phone is also pretty good. We do not know all the details about the cameras yet. The optics should be good for taking nice pictures. The optics include a rear setup, highlighted by a sensor with 120x digital zoom for versatile shooting, from macros to moon shots and the front camera and full sensor breakdown await confirmation but you can expect the optics to have solid computational photography.
The thing that happened on January 12 was really about showing people what the new stuff looks like and that got a lot of people excited. We should find out more about the January 12 event and the new stuff like how the battery lasts, how it charges and what the audio is like pretty soon, about the January 12 event.
